Scope of work includes facility upgrades for Fire Station 71 (6501 Quivira Road) and Fire Station 73 (6805 Hedge Lane Terrace). |
Status Details |
At the September 13, 2021 meeting, City Council approved the renovation option for Fire Station 71, renovation and building addition for Fire Station 73, and construction of several alternates.
Design and construction phase services for GLMV Architecture were approved by City Council on October 11, 2021.
Schematic design activities were completed in January 2022.
Detail Design was completed in June 2022.
The next project phase was completion of Construction Documents in Q4 2022.
A public groundbreaking ceremony at Fire Station 71 - 6501 Quivira - was held December 21, 2022 at 4 PM.
Phase 1 of demolition at Fire Station 71 is complete. Demolition at Fire Station 73 is complete. Construction on the new Operations side of Fire Station 71is currently being completed. Construction of Fire Station 73 is also being completed.
Fire Station 71 has remained in operation during construction.
