| Description: |
In November 2014 voters approved a pavement sales tax of three-eighths of one percent (3/8) with a portion of the tax dedicated to upgrading and improving older streets with curbs, sidewalks, drainage, lighting. The McAnany Drive Street Improvement project is included on the City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for construction in 2025. It is the fifth project to be completed on the Street Improvement Program.
This segment of McAnany Drive is a flat, narrow ditch section with limited sidewalks, street lighting, and proper drainage facilities. This project will include full removal and replacement of pavement, new curb and sidewalk, storm drainage improvements, ADA crossings at intersections, signing, new pavement markings, and LED streetlight luminaires. Staff is ready to proceed with the design of this project. All construction will be completed in 2025. Construction may require temporary detours and lane closures. |

The Government Body approved the Engineering Services for this project during the November 12, 2024 City Council Meeting.
The project is currently under final design and the anticipated schedule is as follows:
- Utility relocation work is pending (Evergy and WaterOne)
- Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2026 pending completion of utility relocations.
- This project is planned to be constructed by the end of December 2026
